Smell the Scent of Flowers in Nanjing

Nanjing, with its profound history, has long been hailed as the Capital of Six Dynasties, and beyond that Nanjing is also known for its abundance of flowers blooming throughout the year. Whenever you come to Nanjing, there are always one or several kinds of flowers that could draw your attention and feast your eyes.

Stone Pillar Forest on Guizi Hill

By far the most significant point of interest in Luhe district is the Stone Pillar Forest on Guizi Hill. The forest is a type of geological formation that has only been found at four sites an earth, of which this is the biggest. Massive gray pentagonal and hexagonal stone columns line the inside of the hill’s shell, of which some four-fifths survives; the area inside the hill covers nearly a fifth of a square kilometer, and the hill itself is about fifty meters tall.

Nanjing Yeshan National Mine Park

Nanjing Yeshan National Mine Park is located in the north of Luhe District, next to Jinniu Lake scenic area. The iron ore smelting of Yeshan has a long history. As early as 3000 years ago, Yeshan Mountain was a place of mining and smelting. The history of iron-smelting was more than 1800 years earlier than that in Europe. It is a microcosm of China's mining history. The underground mining intuitively and iconically indicate the history of China's mining technology from the Western Zhou Dynasty to now.

Pearl Spring

Pearl Spring has verdant hills, clear waters, bizarre springs and beautiful stones, hence making its scenery so charming as well as the environment so favorable. It has been renowned far and wide from the Yangtze River since the Southern and Northern Dynasties more than 1500 years ago. There are large-scale amusement items, such as roller coaster favored by young people and Wildlife Park liked by children.

Jinling Sutra Publishing House

Jinling Sutra Publishing House is a famous Buddhist cultural institutions and the birthplace of Buddhism revival movement in China. It was founded by Yang Renshan in Tongzhi fifth year of Qing dynasty (1866). He was born in Anhui province in 1839; following in his father's footsteps, he became an officer in the Qing army, and joined his father in the war against the Taiping.

             

Linggu Temple

Linggu Temple is a Buddhist temple in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. The temple was described as 'the best Buddhist temple in the world'. It was now surrounded by a large park. The temple was first built in 515 under the reign of the Liang Dynasty (502-557). It used to lie at the northeast foot of Mount Zhongshan, i.e. where Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum now locates, since Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang chose the place to be his mausoleum and then the temple was moved to the present place. The temple was named by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang himself.

Rain-Flower Terrace

Located in the south of the city, only 1 kilometer away from Zhonghua City Gate, Rain-Flower Terrace is one of the representative scenic spots in Nanjing which covers an area of 153.7 hectares and has many historical relics as well as beautiful scenery. It is the Site under National Protection, the Base of National Patriotism Education, and the National 4A Tourist Scenic Site.
