International Aviation Martyrs’ Cemetery

The secluded complex at the north foot of Zijin Mountain might be the only war monument in the world to commemorate the military alliance of China, Russia, the United States and Korea (before the North and South split).

 

Two 15-meter-tall stone tablets were built to mourn the 3,305 pilots from these countries who lost their lives mainly fighting against the Japanese invasion in China between 1930s and 1940s.

 

Memorial Hall of Wang Dao and Xie An

Situated in the Wuyi Lane on the southern bank of the Qinhuai River, The poem "Wuyi Lane" by Liu Yuxi, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty, refers to this area.

 

It is a theme-oriented memorial hall displaying culture and art of the Six Dynasties the family history of Wang Dao and Xie An. Exhibiting precious cultural relics of the Six Dynasties, the hall includes Laiyan Hall and Jianjin Tower, etc.

 

Nanjing Olympic Sports Center

The sports facilities in this Olympic-standard four-stadium center are enough to train a family for a decathlon.

 

Sporty locals jog around the 60,000-seat outdoor stadium or shoot hoops in the outdoor basketball courts.

 

The clean and spacious Swimming Center contains an Olympic-length pool, a six-meter-deep diving pool and a kids’ paddling pool. For non-swimmers, the 13,000-seat indoor stadium hosts anything from a ping pong game to squash combat to a round of snooker.

 

Ice skating, tennis and golf are also available.

Jinling Sutra Publishing House

Jinling Sutra Publishing House is a famous Buddhist cultural institutions and the birthplace of Buddhism revival movement in China. It was founded by Yang Renshan in Tongzhi fifth year of Qing dynasty (1866). He was born in Anhui province in 1839; following in his father's footsteps, he became an officer in the Qing army, and joined his father in the war against the Taiping.
