Bathing in Hot Spring

The synergy of winter and hot springs is the unique romance and tenderness of winter in Nanjing. The most famous hot spring in Nanjing is Tangshan Hot Spring.

Located in Tangshan Subdistrict, Jiangning District, Nanjing, Tangshan Hot Spring is about 29 km away from the downtown of Nanjing. It is a world famous hot spring resort integrating monuments, springs, caves, lakes, temples, with a history of more than 1,500 years. It enjoys a fame as "centuries-old spa destination for health", and was named the royal hot spring in the Southern Dynasty. Tangshan Hot Spring is mostly distributed in the east and southeast of Tangshan area. The spring comes from 2 kilometers underground and contains 5,000 tons of water a day. The water temperature is maintained 50-60℃ all year round, with little temperature difference between winter and summer. Hot spring water contains minerals such as potassium, sodium and calcium, plus the spilled gas of helium, oxygen, and carbon dioxide, boasting high medical value.

In addition to the hot spring, Yangshan Stele recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, and Tangshan Karst Cave of the Natural Geology Museum, Tangshan enjoys rich tourism resources such as Canglong Temple and Anji Lake, as well as the unearthed "Nanjing Ape Man", which advances the history of human activities in the south of the Yangtze River by 600,000 years.
