In 1405 AD, after Zhu Di, emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty, ascended the throne, he decided to set up a tablet symbolizing super merits and sacred virtue for his father Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The main body of the tablet is 51 meters high, 14.2 meters wide and 4.5 meters thick, weighing 8,799 tons. It is virtually a wonder in the world. Now Yangshan Tablet has been formally listed into Guinness Book of World Records. As the tablet was too huge, it would be impossible to move it away. Nowadays, still lying on Yangshan Mountain silently, the three tablets mottled with marks of years and covered with lambent green grasses have become a funny topic for the people in later generations to conjecture historical vicissitudes.
